If you’ve been to our salon, you’ve probably met Wren. She’s our spunky salon manager who helps keep everything from going off the rails. Wrenn’s originally from Miami (or Chicago depending on when you ask) but made the Winston-Salem area her home in 2020. 

It’s no wonder Wren has such managerial prowess—she has a corporate human resource management background. Like her peers, she’s crazy for all things hair and beauty, so she fits right in with the Alkali family and loves using her skills at a high-end salon. Not to mention, it’s a lot more fun for her than the corporate world!

When it comes to hairstylists, one of her favs is the shag queen Jayne Matthews. When it comes to celebrity makeovers, she’d like to see Brittney Spears get one—because, well, the girl’s been through a lot and deserves it! Speaking of makeovers and hairstyles, Wren’s all-time favorite hairstyle is her current one (perfectly crafted and styled by Alkali’s own Brittney Shanks). Of course, like pretty much everyone else, she’s had a few epic hair fails. Her worst was the time she wanted to be like Gwen Stefani when she was 14. This involved an at-home bleach and chemical cut. Let’s just say she’ll never try that again.

Wren’s favorite hair service is Renewal Remedies. As one that adores coloring her lovely locks, she considers it her saving grace. Ask her about her favorite product and she’ll name Oribe’s Swept Up. The why can be described in just one word—volume! The professional “tool” she’d recommend is an action—pre-book your hair appointment. It’s hands down the key to successful hair care. One other word of Wrenn wisdom is this: Listen to your hairdresser.

Outside of Alkali, Wren loves going to the movies with her kids. She also loves to curl up with a good book. But watch out. She’s also an avid wrestling enthusiast—chokeslam or piledriver anyone?
