We’re excited to let you know our latest expansion is now underway! Alkali Beauty Lab will be relocating to the newly available retail space below Alkali and expanding to include more spa and medspa services, including full body spa treatments, nails, and hydrotherapy services.
In 2020, we added medical-grade skin care to our service menu and opened Beauty Lab in 2024. Currently, Alkali Hair Studio offers standard and medical-grade facials, brows, and lashes, while Beauty Lab offers pharmaceutical injectables like Botox, Juvederm, SkinVive, and Virture RF mircroneedling.
With this expansion, we’ll be adding the following services to Beauty Lab:

The expansion is slated to be complete and open for guests in March 2025
Beauty Lab Expansion: All Your Beauty Needs In One Place
The idea for this expansion evolved from feedback, where our guests frequently expressed their desire for one convenient location they could trust for all their beauty needs.
Our goal is to provide exceptionally high-quality and consistent beauty services and guest experiences across all the most popular beauty disciplines.

But I’m also excited about providing more rewarding career opportunities for beauty professionals. I know my 15 years of best practices as a commission salon owner will fit perfectly into the spa and medspa environment.”
Beauty Lab’s new retail space will be completely renovated by LMI Builders, and specially designed for a luxurious and relaxing atmosphere.

Without giving away too much, I'd just say that Alkali is bringing on services that put Winston-Salem's medspa services on a whole new level,” says Joe Williams, owner of LMI Builders and the commercial building at 401-407 West End Boulevard.
How will this Expansion Effect Alkali Hair Studio?
Beauty Lab is a completely separate business from our hair studio. It's not even legal for us to mix the two! This expansion will actually improve operations and guest experiences for both businesses, as it will provide Beauty Lab with its own space. At the same time, it will make more beauty services available at one convenient place.
All the major construction will be happening downstairs, so the hair studio will remain fully operational throughout the expansion. Any construction that does affect the hair studio has been prearranged to take place when Alkali is already scheduled to be closed, so none of our customers will be inconvenienced!
