Alkali Salon Policies
We strongly believe in transparent and honest business practices and have always been open about our policies. To make it easier for you, we've outlined all our salon policies here, in one convenient place. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please contact us. We're here for you! We want to make your entire Alkali experience smooth and enjoyable.

Booking Policy
Alkali requires a valid credit card to be held on file to make a reservation. Rest assured, your information is secure and protected. We follow and adhere to the highest standards of client data security and are Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS) compliant.

All clients must complete an intake form before their visit. This form includes the following:

You can complete this form via email or text before your visit or at check-in.
Cancellation Policy
We require a 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule your appointment. If you provide less notice or fail to attend your appointment, you will be charged the full amount of the booked service.
Modifications within 24 hours of your appointment or last-minute service changes that significantly alter the time needed for your appointment cannot be accommodated.
If you believe an emergency justifies a cancellation fee waiver, you may escalate the matter to management. All requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
Late Policy
If you are 15 minutes late or more without notifying us, you will be considered a no-call/no-show and our cancellation policy will be applied.

If you are late but provide notice, we will do our best to accommodate you, but this will be at the discretion of your stylist. Accommodations will depend on the remaining time for your service and the stylist’s availability for the day. Regardless, we may be unable to perform the full range of scheduled services. However, you will still be responsible for the full reservation.
No-shows & Dishonest Practices
Missing three subsequent appointments without notifying us (no-call/no-show) will result in loss of prebooking privileges. Once this happens, you will only be able to receive services on a walk-in basis, subject to availability, though you can call ahead of time and check if there’s an opening.
Furthermore, we have a zero-tolerance policy for dishonest practices, including the use of fraudulent or unauthorized credit card information to circumvent our cancellation policy. This also applies to clients subject to our cancellation fee who file a chargeback claim through their bank or credit card (“friendly fraud”). If this occurs, you will immediately lose all future booking privileges.
Deposits
Alkali doesn’t currently require deposits for booking appointments or extension orders.* However, if you special-order extensions and do not show up for your appointment, you will be required to prepay for the extension portion of your service going forward.

Extension Storage
We do not store customer extensions. If you are taking a break from extensions or are switching to another color and your stylist deems your extensions are in good enough shape to resuse at a later date, you are responsible for storing them and bringing them back in for your reapplication appointment.
Tipping Policy
Tipping is not required, nor is it expected. However, if you feel your stylist did an exceptional job and wish to tip, it is always appreciated. You can tip via cash, personal check, or Tippy if you prefer to use your card.
Redo Policy
We want you to love your hair! If you are dissatisfied with your hair service, we will make the necessary corrections within two weeks of your original appointment. Two weeks is a fair period for assessment, as hair naturally grows and color fades. Environmental factors and home care routines also affect your hair.

We strongly encourage you to see the same stylist who originally provided the service, as they are most familiar with the techniques and processes used. However, you may book with another stylist in the same pricing tier if needed. Regardless, re-do appointments must still fall within the two-week window and are subject to availability.
Refund Policy
In-salon retail purchases: Refunds and exchanges are honored for retail products within 30 days of purchase.

Online retail purchases: Returns are accepted within 14 days of purchase. No exchanges.

No refunds are given on hair services (see our redo policy), or on chemically altered extensions, as their warranty is null and void once chemically treated.
Alcohol Policy
We provide guests of legal drinking age one complimentary alcoholic beverage during a single service or up to two glasses for multiple services if desired. We want you to relax, have fun, and enjoy your experience responsibly.
Minors Policy
If a minor (under 18) is receiving a service, a parent or legal guardian must be present during the consultation portion of the appointment. You are responsible for approving any potential changes or upgrades to the minor's reservation that could affect the desired outcome and cost of the service booked. If you disregard this rule and drop your child off, do not attend the consultation, and are unreachable during the consultation, we will assume you trust your child to make decisions regarding their desired look and cost of services rendered.

We are not responsible for minors booking their own appointments and coming unattended without alerting us that they are under 18.
Respectful Behavior Policy
We’re dedicated to providing a welcoming and professional environment for everyone. We expect all clients to treat our staff, stylists, and fellow guests with courtesy and respect. Maintaining appropriate behavior is crucial to ensuring a pleasant experience for all. Disruptive or disrespectful behavior will not be tolerated and may result in immediate termination of your appointment. Repeat offenses or severe instances of misconduct will lead to a permanent ban from returning to Alkali Hair Studio. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us maintain a respectful and positive atmosphere.
