Davines is B Corp certified and its entire mission focuses on creating beauty sustainability—a mission we’re fully behind! After all, we’re a carbon neutral salon and one of the only two Green Circle Salons in Winston-Salem.
All of Davines's packaging is carbon neutral and recyclable. Its conditioner containers are even reusable and microwave-safe, so you can easily repurpose them. Ingredients are responsibly sourced from approximately 90 small local farms in Italy and are biodegradable, generated with renewable energy, and have minimal environmental impact.
Of course, we would never carry a product line only because it’s sustainable. It must perform well and be good for the hair too! Davines uses advanced cosmetic technologies to formulate its products for optimal performance, making the product line a win-win for the beauty and sustainability-obsessed!
What We Love About Davines
Davines impressed me because of the company's dedication to the environment and its workers, something that is an integral part of Alkali's values. As a B-Corp, Davines runs a highly respected laboratory, provides value to its workers, family farms, the environment, and the people who use the products. My favorite Davines products are are the Alchemic conditioner—especially for fashion and bright shades!
The company as a whole is trying to leave things better than the way they found it. They use local ingredients from families in their community in Parma, Italy. They are trying to be kind to the earth starting with the farming of ingredients all the way to the packaging of the product. The story of Davines, the scents, the packaging, and the performance is all intentional and beautiful.

Davines has done wonders for my 4c hair type—one of the most dry and fragile hair types out there. My favorite is the Love Curl line. After washing with the cleansing cream, applying the mask, and finishing with the primer, my coils were super hydrated, more manageable, and defined. I’ve also noticed far less shedding. And that's without adding any other styling products!
I love the versatility in the Davines styling products. For example, a product might be made for curly hair but it could also work on fine hair to create volume without drying. So flexible!
